Master program in Business & Management

All business development is based on some kind of innovation that can make companies grow and develop to remain competitive in their markets. The change it brings can be comprehensive for the entire company, a part of it, or project-oriented to optimize smaller development processes. However, it always mixes theory and practice and includes areas such as market, strategy and leadership, areas that need to be managed in order to succeed in developing a business.

In the MSc program in Business and Management (MBM) you will learn to manage, lead and develop business. You will master the art and the ability to take initiative. You will see complex matters from qualitative and quantitative angles. You will also love to collaborate with others, because you have seen the fascination of diversity.

This means that you become extremely employable. Most of all: you will develop the abilities you already have and become the next version of yourself. A version that never stops developing!

In your first two semesters, you will build a solid base on business creation and development. The courses will equip you with solid knowledge and tools from the key disciplines so that you will be able to generate, identify and pursue new business opportunities. Each course in year 1 is linked to concrete practical live projects and SSE's partner companies.

During the third semester, you will be given the opportunity to enrich your individual profile by pursuing the learning opportunities that best fit your ambitions. You may broaden your knowledge by taking electives from other SSE Master programs, the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship or by going on exchange to one of our partner schools. You may also specialize even further on advanced management topics or get work experience through the Executive Trainee Module.

In the fourth and last semester, you will demonstrate your developed mastery of change, innovation and growth by writing a Master thesis that advances the state-of-the-art of management and marketing research. A live module to integrate, put into action and reflect upon your acquired knowledge and skills will conclude your learning journey.

SSE requires the GMAT or GRE test as well as an English language test, unless you are exempted. Make sure to take / sit the tests by the application deadline (Nov 15 or Jan 15). Your application will not be considered, if the GMAT / GRE test is required for you and you do not attach the proof that you have taken the test.

The application to SSE is only submitted via SSE’s own online application portal and is free of charge.

Sometimes, SSE gets in touch with applicants if they have any questions about the application. You would then be invited to a short interview via phone or on Zoom / Teams. Such an interview also offers, naturally, an occasion for you to ask questions about the program and how it could match your career goals.

Step 4: Acceptance, conditional acceptance or rejection

SSE does an overall assessment of all complete applications that that receive. They look at the university where you did your Bachelor's, the courses you have taken and the grades, GMAT / GRE scores, your English language skills, CV, motivation and the results of the assessment center.
