The Location

In 2008 Durham was voted the Number 1 UK city in the annual Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards. Voters praised Durham for its user-friendly size, its value for money and its cleanliness. They also felt that overall Durham is ‘an extremely pretty university city’ and that the people make it an ‘amazingly nice place’ to visit.

Over a thousand years old, few places can match Durham’s beautiful, dramatic setting on the River Wear.
