What did you do before this Master in International Business?
Prior to my master studies, I did my bachelor with focus on marketing at the Berufsakademie Ravensburg – which is a 3 years dual system of theoretical studies and practical work (in my case in an event agency in Munich) in blocks of 3 months each.
Why did you decide to do this Master?
Already during my bachelor it became clear to me that I wanted to study further, even though I had received an offer from my event agency to work for them. Finding a suitable master’s degree that would fit my interests back in 2006 when there were not so many options proved difficult, but I soon found the Munich Business School which offered the master program of international business, which made the decision very easy. My year was only the third generation studying this new master program at this school and I am still very proud of being a part of it.
Why did you choose the Munich Business School?
Internationality played an important part of my live since my childhood, so I was looking for an institution that could offer me an international focus, a personal note through learning in small groups and also a very practical approach, which I was already used to through my bachelor.
What did you experience during the program?
My experiences during this program were very positive. The school’s values reflected mine, for example:
- Flexibility: the master started before I finished my bachelor, but I was still allowed to register and was warmly welcomed after 3 weeks of absence.
- Education: during my studies at MBS I realized that my time there was not only about studying. The goal of MBS was to help you “educate” yourself on various matter of interest. For example, doing business projects for the good or many working groups you can sign up for. Because in everything you do, you will learn something.
- Industry-focused: in regards of the theoretical part, MBS always searched for high-class professors with an actual relation to the industry. We were happy to learn things that we really needed in a working environment. For me personally this hands-on mentality was just right.
Would you recommend this program to others?
If I would recommend studying at MBS? For sure! My younger brother just finished his master in 2017 after enrolling at MBS because of my suggestion. I like being committed to an institution that really cares for their students – but also for their alumni.
