gmat or spjat

    Hi Sir,

Myself Meryl Mathew. I just graduated in may from a reputed college in India. I have been working since my graduation in Kuwait. I plan to apply for the SP JAIN MGB course for the may or september batch in 2014. But i am confused as to if i should write GMAT and apply or if i should write their private exam SPJAT and apply. Because i have heard that GMAT is not only a criteria for B school admission but is also turning to be an employment criteria. Well I just want to know would I be at a loss if I don't write the GMAT and write only SPJAT and get into the college. Or is it better to write GMAT as it is a recognized exam all around the world ( I don't plan to apply at any other college)

Please do reply me as soon as possible. I need to be deciding soon
Thank you so much for your help

      Hi Meryl,

thank you for your question. I never heard that the GMAT becomes an employment criterion at companies, to be honest. Maybe it is true - but I have strong doubts about it.

My personal opinion is: Clarify for yourself the chances that you apply at other schools as well. If you think you will do that, do the GMAT. If not, you can do just the SPJAT. No one else can do weighing this "will you apply someone else or not?" except you.

As an alternative, you can start with the SPJAT and applying at that school. And do the GMAT later in case you need it. Then you save the GMAT costs and keep all flexibility.

      All the best
      Thomas
