Thanks thomas sir and Krish for your kind information.
I narrowed down and I got offer from Strathclyde and UCD Michael Smurfit business school for Masters in Management. I give priority to my job after my graduation. Which university should I choose if I want a good job in the same country after my graduation.
        Krish,
I have no GMAT score so I am not able to apply fore those universities you preferred. Any ways Thank you.

          Hi Joby,

I recommend that you screen both university carefully regarding differences in job opportunities now.

          • Which firms come to campus to recruit?
          • Where (firms and tasks) do MIM graduates start to work after graduation?
          • How many people (percent) do get a job 3 months after graduation?
          • How much do they earn on average?
          • How much experience do the school have with people with your nationality? How easy was it to place them in a firm?

These are your lead questions. Now what are the sources of information?

          • You may get some information on the websites of the school - often they publish statistics.

          • You can talk to th ecareer office and to the admissions office and pose some of your questions; you can openly say that you are very interested in the school and program but that you need more information on your future benefit in order to make a decision for this school as opposed to other schools;

          • You can ask the school's admissions office to bring you in contact with alumni of the program - then contact them and ask them about their overall impression of the career service effectiveness.

Following this approach should help you (1) clear some important questions about each school and (2) compare the schools to make a final decision.

          Best wishes
          Thomas

      Hi there,

I understand you situation. On the current level, however, it is difficult for you to find the right program as your approach is still very broad. Instead, I would recommend you to invest more time in reflecting what EXACTY you want or need.

I give you some lead questions that may help you structure your approach:

      • Is the country or area really irrelevant for you? Keep in mind that most students start to work in the country of where they studied (Source: Global Master in Management Survey 2012)
      • What exactly makes a school a "top-end university" for you? You could narrow down this question, for instance, by reflecting in which industry or position you would like to work after graduation. If you want to work in consulting and at McKinsey or BCG, a "top-end" university would be those where these consulting firms recruit. Alternatively, if you are interested rather in global recognition you may want to have a look at the FT MIM Ranking or other rankings (e.g. the FT European Business School Ranking, MBA Rankings, etc.)

The more you reflect your preferences upfront, the more precise you can define YOUR target school/program - and the more narrow you can screen the internet and search for programs.

      Best wishes
      Thomas
