International campus - Skema (mib)
Posted by - kush wadhawan - on 26 May 2015 - 4:22pm
I am thinking of applying at msc international business for skema business school for January intake 2016 intake. I would like to study in their international campus ie USA (Raleigh)
The course is like this it starts in January 2016
January 2016 to January 2017 first year
Then we can do an internship from January 2017 to August 2017
Then second year starts from August 2017 to August 2018.But students get f-1 visa and they are not allowed to do internship during the course in USA .
They provide otp visa that allows students to gain work experience for 1 year after completion of 2 years.I don't have work experience at all. I want to know if I complete my masters without any experience will employers consider me for jobs ?
Also is it ok to do a master program from a business school another campus instead of main campus ? Is there any difference ?
That the secondary campus is not good than first campus or something ?What should I do ? Because it is a good opportunity to study in USA with lower fees and great course . But no work experience is only thing that forces me to think more about it.
Thanks

Hi there,
I understand your situation. Most Masters in Management do not offer internships. So, without an internship you are not alone.
Does it affect your chances to ge a job? There may be employers that don't care - particularly, if they like your overall CV and if you convince them in the interview. And there may be employers who see an internship as a plus. Seeing it as a plus does not mean that you get the job but you may have greater chances. Also, an internship may be an opportunity to find your potential future employer - given that he makes you an offer. My opinion is: It is always better to have internships than not to have them. But you don't need a school to do an internship. You can do it by yourself before or after the program.
As for the campus question: For the employer it is irrelevant as the degree is the same. But maybe a different campus offers connections to other firms and different career opportunities. Or, maybe a different campus is just the same as you may be presented to employers through the central career service center. I would discuss this with the admissions or career department.
Best wishes
