How to combine a MiM oder MBA with family?

  • Posted by - Tini - on 5 January 2017 - 4:31pm

    Hi,
I im thinking about doing an MiM or MBA. I have 4 years of professional experience so far. Im am holding a Master Degree in Psychology and I am working in HR. Doing a MiM or MBA program would be perfect for my career. But my problem is how to combine this with my family. I am married and we have a 2-year.old daughter. Of course I am thinking about distance learning programs - but these will also require a lot of my time. Is there anybody who has done this yet? And I am wondering if there are programs which can be stopped and continued - just for the case we will have another baby during this time. Thanks for answers.

      Hi there,

first of all, ignore the Master in Management (MIM). You are a crystal-clear MBA-candidate. Please read my MBA-MIM article if you have doubts.

As for your question: What you need is a MBA Part-Time program. Whether you choose a modular, bi-weekly, online or blended structure is up to you - you can choose that format that is optimal to combine your studies with your family life. Have a look into my article on Part-Time MBAs here.

Finally, most part-time MBAs allow you to stretch your studies over many years. Just search for prohgrams of your interest - e.g., using the Search Engine at my MBA Compass platform ("at program type" select Part-Time MBA" ).

      All the best,
      Thomas
