Q: What does real industry experience look like in the context of this program

The program is designed for the students to have real industry experiences throughout every core unit. This means direct interaction with industry - such as:

  • site visits
  • guest speakers
  • live mini-cases
  • ad-hoc mentoring

And opportunities to apply new and accumulated skills and knowledge in an immersive business context: such as:

  • working on live company/industry problems
  • collecting, interpreting and reporting on information for industry partners
  • simulations
  • role play, practice, case competitions and reflection
  • professional placement

The professional placement brings together the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the core units. It can be seen as a capstone for the core curriculum.
Following the professional placement, students will be asked to reflect on their individual performance and identify areas for technical or professional (soft skill) development that they can undertake through their elective choices.
