Description | The master’s degree program Master of Science in Management and Engineering in Electrical Power Systems (MME-EPS) combines the expertise of RWTH Aachen University and Maastricht School of Management in the fields of electrical engineering and management. The main objective of the course is to offer methodological and problem orientated education which is related to research as well as to practice. Therefore, advanced knowledge in engineering, science and economics are conducted in this course. A broad theoretical basis with profound subject-specific specialization enables students to identify current boundaries of knowledge and to enhance them with state of the art methodological approaches. This requires a confrontation with unanswered issues and the inclusion of students in research projects. Thus, the teaching will not be limited to conventional topics but will encourage self-responsibility and independent structuring of gathering and processing the subject matters. For experimental work or the development of computer-based methods, research infrastructure such as IT, labs and test rigs are available.
Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, GermanyThe engineering part of the program will be conducted by the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of RWTH Aachen University. This faculty sees its prior mission in training high qualified and responsible engineers in the broad field of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Engineering for future leading positions in industry and society. The faculty holds nationally as well as internationally a leading position in teaching and research in these fields. The excellence of the faculty results from a close relationship between teaching and research, a good balance between a fundamental scientific approach and important industrial applications and intensive cooperation within RWTH Aachen University, within the Jülich-Aachen-Research Alliance (JARA) and with associated institutes and external research partners.
