Master in Marketing - UK or Sweden

    Hi,

I would like to have your opinion:
Is it worth to study a Master in Strategic or International Marketing in UK / London? I am accepted both in Halmstad, Sweden, as well as in Brunel University. Besides, I have also applied to other programmes in England. I chose programmes of which the university costs are around 10,000 pounds. In Sweden, there are no tuition fees at all. Is it worth to study in England even if as a brand manager etc., I will not be paid very well afterwards?
Will I be rated higher when I restart working after my masters?

In UK, the universities I applied to are:
    Kings College, London,
    Brunel University, Uxbridge,
    University of Greenwich, London,
    Coventry University

    Can you recommend one?
I heard that the master is very academic and more theoretic than the bachelor. Do you know if there is a programme that also focusses on practical aspects / applied knowledge?

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards

(Before, I studied International Management and had Marketing as a major. I have worked for 2.5 years at a large consultancy in the Strategy practice).

      Hi there,

if you have worked for some years as a consultant already, then I would also consider an MBA as well - particularly, since you mentioned your interest in practical content.

Of course, if you want to deepen your knowledge in Strategic Marketing, a Master's in Marketing may be the right choice. But if this expertise knowledge is not the most important for you - if, for instance, a practical management approach, strategy, and internationality are more important, then I would consider an MBA at an internationally renowned business school.

All your other questions, particularly, the question if it is worth it to study somewhere or which schools to choose, are tackled in my ebook: 'Roadmap to your Master in Business Degree 2014' that I recommend you to read.

      Best wishes
      Thomas
