      Hi all,

I am a second year Industrial engineering student from Anna University, Chennai. We run a business and so I require good knowledge in finance and accounting. But with an engineering background, is it possible to do a masters in finance and accounting ? I have heard about the Accounting certificate programs for people with backgrounds other than finance and accounts.

I require details about this accounting program and the universities that provide the masters in accounting and finance for those with engineering background. Is work experience required to enter good universities ?

      Thanks,
      Bala Vishnu

        Hi there,

in our search engine we provide a FILTER called "entry requirements". You can choose the "no academic degree in business or economics required" option and then search for

        • Masters in Finance
        • Mastes in Accounting

        in the Program focus section.

As for the work experience required, you need to check the programs individually by consulting the websites.

        Best wishes

      Hi Bhanu,

it may depend on the institution you want to apply for. Usually they just ask for a first academic degree but some may also ask for a fulltime degree. Your bachelor appears to be a parttime program that you can do besides your job. So, it may depend.

If I was you I would make a list of schools with Masters in Marketing and contact those that you like the most. Screen the websites for the eligibility criteria and contact the admissions office.

Introduce yourself, say that you are interested in their program, and mention your academic education - finally ask them for the brochure and how the admissions process works (it should be on the website as well). Then you can also ask again if your degree is recognized.

      Best wishes
