Admission chances in third/last intake

    Hi,

I am planning on applying for Masters in Management(MIM) programme in universities like HEC,ESCP,ESSEC, EMLYON, and EDHEC. However, I am eligible for the third intake now (Deadline being 22 April 2014 for the summer session as per SAI). Do you think that there is any difference in the chances of admissions to these colleges, between applying in the first intake and the third/last intake? Is there a lesser chance of admission to these reputed universities if I apply in the third intake?

    Thank you

      Hi there,

thank you for your question. In general, it is better to apply early. If you apply at later stages, there are less places available and you don't know how many people apply then (=how many people you compete with). Also, these schools focus on diversity because they know that having an international program with diverse people provides value for the students. If for some reason a school has many great applications from one country and accepts a lot of them, this may be a disadvantage for other applications from the same country at later stages.

Nevertheless, I am confident that the degree of potential disadvantage when applying at later stages is not dramatic. In other words, if a school really wants you they should take you also at later stages.

      best wishes
      Thomas
