The Masters in General Management is Vlerick’s oldest and most well-known masters programme, established by professor Vlerick himself back in 1953. Over the years the programme has grown to accommodate three full cohorts both at the Vlerick Ghent and Leuven campuses. Key to the success of the programme is its all-encompassing scope and focus on management skills, making it appeal to students from highly diverse backgrounds. The programme has also received the MBM quality label from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and has been consistently ranked in the Financial Times rankings for Masters in Management programmes. The Masters in General Management runs full-time from early September to early July and provide an exceptional foundation for a fast-track career in management. When embarking on the programme, you first go through a series of introductory courses, which are designed to refresh or introduce the basic knowledge required to effectively follow the core module. After that, the programme really kicks off with a 4-day opening seminar on social and interaction skills. The core module addresses all management disciplines as well as a wide range of management skills. Classes are alternated with various exercises and games throughout the year, and there is a 1-week study trip abroad. At regular intervals, you are assessed through a mix of exams, papers, case discussions and presentations. The programme culminates with the in-company project, in which you tackle a business issue within a company by integrating and applying what you have learned during the programme. At the end of the journey, you receive a well-deserved Masters degree from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School.

The admissions process is highly selective and strives to build a diverse and ambitious class. Applications are processed on a rolling basis through our customised online application system. Since the number of places available in each programme is limited, we strongly recommend applying early. To qualify for our Masters programmes, you must meet two requirements:

1. Hold a university degree You must hold a 4-year degree (minimum 240 ECTS credits) from a recognised academic institution. A 3-year university degree is also accepted if you have at least one year of relevant work experience or an additional 1-year degree (minimum 60 ECTS credits). In some cases a GMAT may be required as well. Note that you do not have to wait for your final examination results to apply.
2. Pass the admissions process You can apply for admission in one of two equivalent ways: an on-campus assessment or a distance assessment.
