Thunderbird School of Global Management - The Location
Thunderbird’s flagship campus is located in Glendale, Arizona – a suburb of Phoenix, the fifth largest city in the United States. The campus sits on the historic Thunderbird Field, which during World War II served as an Air Corps training base. Recognizing the need for a school focused 100% on international business and cross-cultural relations, base General Barton Kyle Yount founded Thunderbird as the first and only business school dedicated exclusively to global management education. The sprawling desert campus still features architectural landmarks from its days as an Air Corps base, including two airplane hangers and the renowned Thunderbird air-traffic control tower, which is currently being renovated in all-green, sustainable style through a student-run initiative.
