Studying at Cems
CEMS – the Global Alliance in Management Education is a strategic alliance of top business schools, multinational companies and NGO that was established in 1988 to set up a new standard for Master in Management education. CEMS was originally a European organisation but has grown to become present in 4 continents, comprising 26 member schools, 75 corporate partners and 3 social partners. At the core of CEMS is the CEMS Master of Science in International Management (MIM). The CEMS Master in Management degree granted to Master in Management students of the CEMS partner business schools who are selected for the CEMS MIM. In 2009, the CEMS Master in International Management (MiM) managed it on position 1 in the Financial Times Master in Management Ranking. In 2010 and 2011 it achieved position 2, meaning that for the 2011 3-year ranking it ranks at the very top.
CEMS Master in Management students
CEMS MIM students are pre-selected due to very high criteria. Academic achievements but also personal characteristics such as the "willingness to take responsibility within society" or intercultural and interpersonal skills are required. They are also expected to display advanced linguistic skills, with a view to graduating from the programme fluent in 3 languages. 30% of CEMS graduates speak 4 or more languages. They apply for the CEMS MIM at one of the CEMS member schools and are obliged to have taken the Master’s in Management of one of the member schools in order to be able to take the CEMS Master’s the following year.
CEMS PhD
In addition to the CEMS Master of Science in International Management (MIM), the CEMS alliance also engages in research and offers a CEMS PhD program - more precisely many CEMS partner business schools offer doctoral programs and the doctoral students can exchange through the CEMS network and participate in PhD workshops.
