Description:

The Ashridge Masters in Organisational Change is recognised as one of the most innovative and powerful programmes in the field. The programme builds on your existing skills as a leader or facilitator of change, developing your reflective capacity through provocative theory and innovative approaches to learning.

This two-year part-time Masters programme has been developed by a team of practising faculty, to specifically address the unique challenges within organisations. The programme is aimed for those who support and enable change, wishing to deepen their understanding of organisations and the contribution they can make in increasingly complex and uncertain environments.

The programme offers the unique combination of access to the latest research, experience of faculty/participants and the combination of a practical approach with theoretical insight. A virtual element is also incorporated into the programme design, supporting participants to develop their ability to work successfully in a virtual environment.

The programme is designed to develop an individual's practice through a combination of grounded practical inquiry and capability development, theoretical rigour and active experimentation. The programme attracts international participants who wish to develop their practice in a peer learning community, by interacting with each other and faculty in processes designed to engage the full range of learning styles. Our experiential approach builds on existing skills, provokes self-reflection and integrates new learning from the start.

As a programme participants you will:

  • Gain broader perspectives on the phenomenon of organising, with a particular understanding of organisations as complex social processes, and the implications of this perspective for leadership, change and organisation consulting
  • Heighten your awareness of yourself as a person and of the impact you have on others in the organisational context and in your role as an organisation consulting, leader or facilitator
  • Increase your understanding of group dynamics and how you typically engage in such processes in organisations
  • Increase your ability to work effectively with group and power dynamics in organisation, and to design and facilitate small and large scale interventions
  • Enable your sense of personal presence and confidence, enabling you to respond appropriately in uncertain and emergent consulting situations
  • Gain a broader awareness of ethical considerations and how you currently and potentially take account of these in our practice
  • Add to your understanding of, and ability to work with, various forms of ‘action research/action inquiry’, thus underpinning your own development and that of your practice with a rigorous base.
